The Press Gallery: Inside Alberta politics

Jan 24, 2014

Many Albertans, including Health minister Fred Horne, were upset to learn about a laptop that went missing with the personal information of more than 600,000 Medicentre clients. Journal columnist Paula Simons and provincial affairs reporter Mariam Ibrahim sit down with podcast host Sarah O’Donnell to talk about the theft and why it is an issue that concerns provincial politicians, as well as nearly one in six Albertans potentially affected by the privacy breach. Then the panel branches into federal politics, and looks at how leader of the official opposition, the NDP’s Thomas Mulcair, and Liberal leader Justin Trudeau came to Edmonton this week to make the case for their parties as they look ahead to the 2015 federal election. Listen in for a clip from interviews with both leaders.
